As I will be doing a lot of travel this month I have gone back to MBAM 2. I have this on a Laptop that I use when traveling so I use it to Beta test also at times. This morning when I logged in the tray icon had a red x and when I opened MB it showed that Web Site protection was off but in a few seconds it went active. I took the Log off choice and it then Logged in with no problems. ![]() The next morning when I booted my system I got the Profile error which I have never had before. I restarted my system and got the Protection alert but MB was OK when I checked. on Wednesday when it went to release status. The only problems I had with 3.0.5 was the occasional Protection alert on startup and this problem with imaging. I have been running the release version of MB 3.0.5 and waiting until 3.0.6 made it to release. I now have 20+ GB tied up in these files, so I'll have to purge my restore points to reclaim this space. After running its course new leftover files were spawned, One of the things it does is to overwrite freespace with zeros. I just ran PrivaZer on my OS partition with the same result. I somewhat fear that uninstalling v3 will have no remedial effect (particularly since there is no clean uninstall tool).Īnd now this. And still these junk files continue to increase. I pretty much have MBAM turned off 24/7 (nothing MBAM related appears in Task Manager). Did that stop this mess? No! The leftover files continue with each daily image. I then set that service from Automatic to Disabled. I also went into Services and stopped MBAM Service. I unchecked MBAM's option to start with Windows. ![]() Two weeks ago I turned of Anti-Ramsomware. ![]() Thanks for all those that have Man I would definitely take issue with #2 & #3 (#1 is valid for me). ![]() I have read the replies and this is what I surmised.ġ) It does not affect the Macrium image file so the image is safe to use.Ģ) It just leaves the extra files in the SVI directory on the PC if Macrium is run with Anti-Ransomware activated.ģ) If Macrium is run with Anti-Ransomware deactivated it will clean out all those leftover files even those from previous runs of Macrium.
